Drake Defends Justin Bieber Classic While Teasing Iceman Album Rollout

As Drake continues work on his next studio album, Iceman, he’s still finding time to weigh in on music discourse online. Earlier this week, Drake jumped into the comments on Instagram to call out the NFR Podcast after one of its hosts criticized a major hit from Justin Bieber.

The moment stemmed from a segment titled “Songs I Hate That Have Over 1 Billion Streams,” where the host named Bieber’s 2015 smash “Where Are U Now” among his picks. Drake didn’t let that slide, replying directly in the comments: “Where are you now is a classic ur tweaking.”

Once screenshots of Drake’s response began circulating on X (formerly Twitter), fans quickly split into two camps. Some backed Drake’s take, arguing the song dominated the culture for years, while others doubled down on the criticism, calling the track overrated despite its massive streaming numbers.

Drake’s defense of Bieber also follows a more personal moment between the two artists last year. When Bieber posted on Instagram asking collaborators to DM him for potential music, Drake publicly replied that he had already messaged him—only to be left on read. The interaction sparked speculation about whether the two would ever actually link up in the studio.

If they do, a collaboration could very well land on Iceman. While Drake hasn’t confirmed a release date, he’s repeatedly hinted that the album is nearing completion. Earlier this month, DJ Akademiks fueled excitement by posting on X that the project was coming “so soon.”

Drake himself has echoed that sentiment. While streaming with BenDaDonnn, he mentioned heading out on a final recording trip and promised there was “plenty to talk about,” adding that Iceman was coming soon and warning listeners to “duck and get out the way.” Around the same time, he also confirmed plans to host one more Iceman livestream.

So far, Drake has already released several singles from the project, including “What Did I Miss?,” “Which One” featuring Central Cee, and “Dog House” featuring Yeat and Julia Wolf.

Between defending pop classics and steadily teasing new music, Drake appears fully locked in—keeping fans talking while the countdown to Iceman continues.
