Rihanna is showing public support for A$AP Rocky’s latest music, giving her stamp of approval to his new track “Stole Ya Flow,” featured on his freshly released album Don’t Be Dumb. The moment didn’t go unnoticed by fans, many of whom believe the song contains pointed jabs aimed at Drake.
“Stole Ya Flow” has quickly drawn attention for its provocative lyrics, with listeners interpreting several lines as shots at the Toronto superstar—Rihanna’s former partner. Drake and Rihanna famously dated on and off between 2009 and 2016, collaborating on hits like “Take Care” and “What’s My Name,” before ultimately going their separate ways.
Rocky and Rihanna, meanwhile, share a long creative and personal history of their own. Beyond collaborating on the “Cockiness (Love It)” remix, Rihanna appeared in Rocky’s videos for “Fashion Killa” and “D.M.B.” The two are now parents to three children: sons RZA, 3, and Riot Rose, 2, along with their four-month-old daughter, Rocki Irish.
After Don’t Be Dumb dropped, Rihanna subtly showed love to “Stole Ya Flow” on Instagram, fueling speculation that she’s fully backing Rocky’s message. On the track, Rocky raps, “First you stole my flow; so I stole yo’ bitch,” a line many fans immediately connected to Drake. Elsewhere, he adds, “N***as getting BBLs, lucky we don’t body shame / Throwing dirt on Rocky name, turn around and copy game,” which some listeners see as a nod to Metro Boomin’s viral “BBL Drizzy.”
While Rocky hasn’t directly named Drake, he has recently spoken about strained relationships with former peers. On The New York Times podcast Popcast, he reflected on how friendships can sour in the industry, alluding to tensions that developed after he opened for Drake on the Club Paradise Tour in 2012—a run that also featured Kendrick Lamar, whose relationship with Drake has similarly deteriorated in recent years.
Drake once publicly declared his love for Rihanna while presenting her with the Vanguard Award at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, but with Rocky now firmly in the picture, the dynamics have clearly shifted. Whether “Stole Ya Flow” is a direct diss or just lyrical bravado, Rihanna’s visible support makes one thing clear: she’s riding with Rocky.
