NBA YoungBoy is making headlines for a compassionate act amid personal controversies. The Baton Rouge rapper has stepped forward to cover the funeral expenses for Kimani Thomas, a 10-year-old girl from his hometown who tragically died in an accidental shooting earlier this month.
According to WBRZ, the incident occurred in a Sonic parking lot when Kimani’s eight-year-old sibling discovered a firearm inside the family vehicle while their mother and stepfather were working inside the restaurant. The younger child accidentally discharged the weapon, striking Kimani, who was playing outside the car. She later succumbed to her injuries.

In a touching twist, Kimani was a devoted fan of NBA YoungBoy. Her mother expressed overwhelming gratitude on social media, writing through tears: “I know Baton Rouge love to say all the bad things people do. But I want to be the first to say publicly thanks to NBA YoungBoy and whomever may be a part of his team tonight. As I type this with tears in my eyes my baby Kimani funeral is officially paid for! I know she dancing her tail off full of joy!”
The gesture provides a small measure of comfort to a grieving family facing unimaginable loss. Our thoughts remain with Kimani’s loved ones during this difficult time.
Meanwhile, NBA YoungBoy continues his musical output, recently collaborating with Coi Leray on her new track “Better Than Yours,” which samples Kelis’s classic “Milkshake.”
