Ed Sheeran is packing his bags and heading across the Atlantic. The global superstar revealed on The 2 Johnnies podcast that he and his family will soon relocate to the United States.
The singer, who shares two daughters—Lyra, five, and Jupiter, three—with wife Cherry Seaborn, said the decision comes as he prepares for an extended tour in the U.S. “I’m just about to move to America,” Sheeran said, joking that he might be the only one making the move.
For Sheeran, the shift isn’t just about logistics—it’s about balance. “I can’t dip in and out. We’re going and settling there,” he explained.
While the Suffolk native hasn’t disclosed the exact location of his new American base, Nashville, Tennessee, remains high on his list. Known for its thriving country music scene, the city could be a natural fit for Sheeran, who has expressed interest in exploring the genre. “Nashville is, like, my favorite city in the States,” he previously shared on the Call Her Daddy podcast. “My end goal would be like, I’m gonna move to Nashville and transition to country.”
That ambition reflects Sheeran’s constant evolution as an artist. With chart-topping hits in pop, folk, and R&B already under his belt, he sees country music as a natural next step. “Once you transition to country, you can’t transition back. Once you’re there, you’re there,” he noted.
In the meantime, Sheeran is already laying down roots in the U.S. Earlier this year, he purchased a $10 million apartment in Brooklyn, New York. The move marks a new chapter for the singer, blending family life with the next stage of his career.
