Kanye West is reportedly facing a relapse with nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas. According to the New York Post, multiple sources claim Ye picked up the habit after dental surgery in 2024 and has resumed using the drug.
Concerns Over Ye’s Mental State
One source told the outlet that after undergoing dental work in Los Angeles, Ye fell back into using nitrous. Another insider alleged he’s using it as a form of self-medication, which has negatively impacted his memory and mental clarity.
“When he comes off the nitrous, he’s erratic,” the source explained. “It’s like his life is a constant video game, and he just says whatever comes to his mind.”

Ye has been at the center of multiple controversies recently, including a four-day social media rant that involved offensive posts and explicit content. He later deactivated his account, only to launch a new line of swastika-themed T-shirts, which led to Shopify banning him.
Ye’s Dentist Denies Allegations
In a separate accusation, Ye’s former chief of staff, Milo Yiannopoulos, alleged that the rapper’s dentist, Dr. Thomas P. Connelly, played a role in his addiction. Connelly has denied all claims, calling them “false and intentionally misleading.”
