Rod Wave may have just put one of the biggest potential hip-hop tours on the table. The Florida rapper recently hinted that he and NBA YoungBoy could eventually hit the road together for a stadium tour, sending fans into immediate speculation about what a joint run between the two stars could look like.
The idea surfaced after DJ Akademiks took to social media to call for a Rod Wave and NBA YoungBoy tour. Akademiks also suggested that the two artists should consider making a collaborative album or EP. Rod Wave responded with a short but eye-catching message: “I told yb we going stadium.”
That response was enough to get fans talking. Wave and YoungBoy have built a strong musical connection over the years, including their collaboration “Everything Different” and YoungBoy’s “Home Ain’t Home,” which features Rod Wave. Their ability to blend emotional songwriting with hard-hitting Southern rap has helped them develop similarly dedicated audiences.
There is, however, a major logistical question surrounding the idea. NBA YoungBoy currently lives outside the United States, meaning organizing an extended American stadium run would require some planning. That doesn’t necessarily make the concept impossible, but there is currently no announced tour schedule or confirmation that the two rappers are officially preparing to hit stadiums together.
Rod Wave already has plenty of experience commanding large venues. His current “Don’t Look Down” trek has him performing across the country, while his Mainstay Touring company has also been involved with major concert events. YoungBoy, meanwhile, recently completed his “MASA” tour and released a documentary connected to the run.
The possibility of Rod Wave and NBA YoungBoy sharing a full stadium stage would certainly be a major moment for their respective fanbases. Both artists have carved out distinctive lanes built around deeply personal music, loyalty from their audiences, and a strong Southern hip-hop identity.
For now, though, Rod Wave’s comment remains a tease rather than an official announcement. Fans will have to wait and see whether “we going stadium” eventually turns into a real tour announcement—or remains one of hip-hop’s most intriguing what-ifs.
