Drake’s “Signs” Remains a Hidden Gem Nine Years After Its Louis Vuitton Debut

Nine years ago, Drake added another memorable entry to his catalog when he teamed up with Louis Vuitton for the brand’s Spring/Summer 2018 presentation during Paris Fashion Week.

The collaboration produced “Signs,” a standalone track that arrived at a time when Drake seemed virtually unstoppable. Released shortly after his playlist project More Life, the song served as yet another reminder of the artist’s ability to dominate conversations and deliver hits with remarkable consistency.

“Signs” carried many of the sonic qualities that defined Drake’s music during the Views era. Its smooth melodies, atmospheric production, and reflective tone felt like a natural extension of the creative direction that helped make Views one of the most influential releases of the decade. For many listeners, the track sounded like it could have easily emerged from those same recording sessions.

At the time, Drake was enjoying one of the most successful stretches of his career. Between chart-topping singles, sold-out tours, and the momentum generated by More Life, every release seemed to become an event. “Signs” may have originated as part of a fashion partnership, but it quickly stood on its own as a fan-favorite record.

The collaboration also highlighted the growing connection between hip-hop and luxury fashion. By joining forces with Louis Vuitton for a major runway presentation, Drake further cemented his influence beyond music and into the worlds of style and culture.

While it may not receive the same attention as some of his biggest commercial singles, “Signs” has aged remarkably well. Its laid-back vibe, memorable melodies, and unmistakable summer energy continue to resonate with fans years later.

As the song celebrates its ninth anniversary, it remains a reminder of a period when Drake seemed capable of turning every release into a moment. Nearly a decade later, “Signs” still stands as one of the standout deep cuts from one of the most dominant eras of his career.
