On Thursday, Quavo and his Quavo Cares Foundation hosted the second annual Huncho Farms event in partnership with the Atlanta Community Food Bank and the Atlanta City Council. Dedicated to supporting seniors raising their grandchildren, Quavo Cares continues its mission to combat food insecurity. This year’s event catered to 500 families and featured live music, holiday-themed activities, and a custom Huncho Farms cookbook with simple, nutritious holiday recipes.
Building on the success of last year’s event, this year’s Huncho Farms took inspiration from local farmers markets, setting up tents stocked with fresh produce, meat, bread, pastries, and more. Quavo, who was recently honored as Variety’s Hitmakers Humanitarian of the Year for his advocacy on gun control, attended the event alongside Atlanta Councilwoman Andrea Boone and representatives from HOPE Hustlers, a prominent Atlanta-based violence intervention organization supported by The Rocket Foundation’s SPARK grants program.
“I’m so thankful to Quavo and the Quavo Cares Foundation for bringing their Huncho Farms event to this community,” said Boone. “This neighborhood is a food desert where many grandparents are raising their grandchildren. The high cost of food makes meeting basic needs even harder. This farmer’s market-style food drive provides families with fresh, healthy options for a joyful holiday season. Thanks to Quavo Cares, our residents will enjoy a wonderful Christmas dinner.”
Quavo Cares also received a $150,000 grant from the Tender Foundation to support single Black mothers through their guaranteed income program. Originally a drive-thru initiative, Huncho Farms has expanded into a larger event, continuing to focus on communities facing food insecurity.
Over the years, Quavo Cares has partnered with Walmart, Feeding America, New Bethel Ministries, and the Atlanta Community Food Bank to serve families across Gwinnett, Fulton, and DeKalb counties, fostering a stronger and healthier community.
