DDG and Halle Bailey have been painting the town since 2022, gracing red carpets and sharing delightful moments that captivate fans. Yet, as with any high-profile relationship, their love story has faced its fair share of critics, especially in the realm of social media. In an exclusive interview with REVOLT, DDG shed light on their relationship dynamics and how they’ve mastered the art of ignoring online noise.
Addressing the persistent online chatter, DDG nonchalantly remarked, “We don’t really pay attention to any of that, to be honest – it’s the internet, it’s Twitter, and they aren’t real people to me, personally.” The YouTuber-turned-rapper emphasized the solidity of their bond, highlighting their friendship as the cornerstone of their connection. “We’re best friends. We’re surprisingly very alike and we can kick it,” he shared, underlining their ability to transcend traditional relationship roles.
DDG further illuminated the dynamic nature of their relationship, describing Halle as a person with a vibrant sense of humor and an infectious personality. “She’s very fun and a funny person — because humor and personality are a big thing for me,” he explained, offering a glimpse into the unique chemistry that fuels their companionship. “We can not act like boyfriend and girlfriend — which we do because we display PDA and stuff — but beyond that, we can chill, and that’s the best part.”
Beyond the glitz and glam, the couple showcased their creative flair during Halloween, donning iconic costumes as Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown. DDG revealed, “That was 100 percent her. I’ve never been the Halloween type of dude. It was something she wanted to do, and I felt it was a cool bonding moment for us.” This follows their trend of elaborate Halloween costumes, with last year’s Avatar theme and DDG going the extra mile by getting his entire body painted for her.
Switching gears to the music scene, DDG dropped his latest project, “Maybe It’s Me…,” in July, featuring collaborations with BIA, NLE Choppa, and Luh Tyler. Notably, the track “Famous” sparked speculation among fans, hinting at a connection to Bailey’s on-screen romance in The Little Mermaid.
In a world where social media scrutiny is relentless, DDG and Halle Bailey have mastered the art of love, emphasizing friendship, creativity, and a shared sense of humor as the pillars that keep their relationship thriving beyond the digital noise.
